Jonathan (Jon) Wade Jones, 60, of Grain Valley, Mo passed away on March 13, 2021, with all his children close by. There will be a Celebration of Life held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16th at Sidepockets, Blue Springs, Missouri. A celebration of life will be planned in Mississippi at a later date.
Jon was born in Jackson, MS on January 25, 1961 to Leatha Pearl Wade Jones and Robert Ray Jones. He is survived by his older brother Ronnie Ray Jones and two younger sisters Jennifer Lynn Fiorilli, and Renee Michelle Longoria; His children Joshua Wade Jones, Loren Blake Jones, Kearson Shelby Wilson, and Christie Michelle Blair; His grandchildren Blakely-Jo Tyndall, Jonesy-Lee Tyndall, Jacob Robert Jones, Reagan Alice Jones, Jensen Vai Wilson, Bentlei Kayde Blair, Braxlei-Jo Peighton Blair, and Baylei Wade Blair, and his partner in crime and the catch of his life Melinda Brown.
Jon was a ‘jack of all trades’ in so many ways that it might as well be coined ‘Jon of all trades’. He was, and will always be, a son, a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a friend. He was a friend to so many people in fact, that you couldn’t go anywhere in the country without running into someone who knew him.
For those who knew him, there are not enough words in the world to describe all the things he was to us. He truly was the kind of man that would give you the last dime out of his pocket. And if you were ever unfortunate enough to bet against him you might know what it’s like to give him the last dime out of yours. From foosball and dominos to pool, fishing, and golf there was nothing Jon did that he didn’t excel at. (he’s got the trophies to prove it) Jon was both a smart man and a strong man, and he expected that same strength from everyone around him. He will be truly and wholly missed by so many people. And in the words of Jon Jones, I believe he would tell us all “y’all ain’t gonna believe this, but I gotta go.” We will meet again traveling those roads he loved to run so much, only this time it’s the road to Heaven.

16 Mar 2021What’s there to say about this genuine man that hasn’t been said yet? Whether it’s on Facebook or just in person, Jon was a great man. From his jokes to the way he helped everyone. Heaven gained a phenomenal angel. I know he’s up there putting smiles on everyone’s faces like he did mine and many others.
