Karen Rena Raffurty, 53, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Karen was born on May 12, 1971, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of James Donald and Beverly Jean (True) Jackman. She was known for her warm smile, compassionate nature, and dedication to helping others. Karen spent the majority of her life serving her community as a pharmacy technician for 38 years. Her work was more than a job, it was an opportunity to connect with people, offering kindness and understanding in moments when they needed it most. In her free time, Karen enjoyed evenings at the bowling alley, reading, and weekends with her mom. She also enjoyed watching the Chiefs game as it was reminiscent of times spent with her dad.
Karen’s survivors include daughter, Holly Bower (Jesse); son, Justin Raffurty (Alora); her mother, Beverly Jackman; brother, Ronald Jackman (Veronica); and grandchildren: Carter, Owen, and Sadie Bower, and Jacob Raffurty. She was preceded in death by her father.
