Kent Smith, 56, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Lee’s Summit Fire Fighters Union Hall, 322 SE Douglas, Lee’s Summit, MO. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Crossroads Hospice.

Kent was born February 15, 1961 in Independence, MO, son of Roger and Mary (Bencken) Smith. He loved being outdoors, playing golf, going to the lake, spending lots of time with his grandchildren and coaching his daughter’s softball teams. He was a member of Printers Local #16.

Kent is preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his wife, Susan of the home; 3 children, Nathan Smith of Lee’s Summit, MO, Nicole (Brandon) Logan of Grain Valley, MO and Kasey Smith of Grain Valley, MO; 2 grandchildren, Addison Logan and Easton Logan; brother, Roger (Beckey) Smith of Independence, MO; and sister, Shirley (Bill) Thomas of Kansas City, MO.
