Kevin Leroy Darnell was born on June 11, 1950 in Quincy, Illinois to Leroy and Etta Jane Darnell. He was the fifth of ten children. The family moved to Missouri where he met Allie.
Kevin married Alice (Allie) Conaway on April 14, 1971. They were blessed with 45 years together, creating a lifetime of cherished memories until she preceded him in death. They raised five sons and one daughter. He was a caring and loving father to Michael (& Jennifer), David (& Meg), Corey (& Ashlyn), Kevin (& Rachel), Andrew (& Katie), Sarah (& Fiancé Quintin). One of his favorite roles was that of Grandpa to his two grandsons, Alex and Tristan and his seven granddaughters, Aiyana, Emily, Caitlin, Charlea, Abigail, Paisley, Ellie and two bonus grandsons, Isaac and Jonah.
He loved working on old cars, riding motorcycles and tinkering on anything. He was an avid Ford mechanic and enthusiast. He worked as a mechanic, plumber, HVAC and contractor. Kevin was deeply passionate about fishing, finding the joy in those quiet moments by the water.
Kevin was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1966. His dedication to sharing God’s word touched the lives of many as he imparted wisdom and compassion in every encounter.
Kevin married Judy Tully (Gann) on May 4, 2019 and gained the love and support of her family adding 4 bonus children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. They had 5 years together filled with love, adventures and laughter. They especially loved being Pioneer partners, working on home projects, and playing cards late into the night.
Kevin served his God faithfully and continued to witness right to the end. Sadly, on July 28, 2024, Kevin fell asleep in death at the hospital surrounded by the love of his wife, children and grandchildren.
Kevin’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched sharing his faith, his love for the great outdoors, and his admiration for classic American engineering. He will remain in Jehovah’s memory, awaiting his resurrection to life here on a paradise Earth.
