Margaret G. Tierney, 87, of blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 2 at St. John La Lande Catholic Church, Blue Springs; burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 1st at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley.

Margaret was born on January 15, 1920, in Fort Worth, TX, the daughter of Albert and Rose (Casey) Mallen. She married Robert C. Tierney on August 12, 1940, and he proceeded her and death in December 2000. Margaret was a Culinary Union housekeeper on the Alaskan Pipeline in the 1970’s. She was a member of St. John La Lande Catholic Church and attended Vesper Hall in Blue Springs.

In addition to her husband, Robert, Margaret was also preceded in death by her son, Denis Tierney in 2001, four sisters, including her identical twin, Mary Messina, and one brother.

She has survived by two sons: Patrick Tierney & his wife, Patricia, and Timothy Tierney, both of Fairbanks, AK; one brother, Bernard Mallen of Carney, MO; two sisters: Rita Tolpaz of Sherman Oaks, CA, And Dorothy Zulkiewski of Dearborn, MI; five grandchildren: James & Daniel Tierney, Heather Rice, Robert & Ryan Tierney; and five great-grandchildren: Thomas Tierney, Nolan & Abbey Rice, and Caden & Ethan Tierney.
