Marilyn Louise Young, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital East in Lee’s Summit, MO, while surrounded by her family. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 30th at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO.
Marilyn was born November 24, 1945, in Windsor, Missouri, the daughter of Dean and Chloe Baskins. She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking trips with her niece Lori.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Jim Baskins of Baldwin, KS, and Roy Baskins of Independence, MO.
Her survivors include one brother, Donald Baskins and his wife Tammy of Springfield, MO; daughter, Kelly Smith and her husband Kenny of Lee’s Summit, MO; son, Jeff Young and his wife Tracey of Independence, MO; five grandchildren: Jennifer Cassel, Laine Cartee, Alec Smith, Tyler Young, and Kelsey Young; four great-grandchildren; eight nieces; three nephews; and a number of great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
