Marjorie was born on October 28, 1933 to Frederick and Mary Sizemore in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was a member of St. Louis Parish for most of the first forty years of her life.  As a child she spent her summers in Olmitz, Kansas on the wheat farm of her mother’s family and told many stories of these cherished memories. She graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1951 where she met her husband, Nicholas (Nick) Barrack, deceased. They married in June 1952 and were active members of St. Louis Parish where they made life-long friendships while raising their family.  Although she was an only child, she was always grateful for her husband’s family where his parents and siblings loved her.  Over the years, the families shared holidays and other occasions, together with a growing number of nieces and nephews she dearly loved.  It was their dream to have a home in the country.  In 1974 they moved to acreage in Buckner, Missouri.  There the family worked together to build a peach and apple orchard and greenhouses. The family joined the Catholic Church of the Santa Fe where she was an active member for the remaining years of her life.  After her family was grown, she enjoyed golfing trips with her husband, family and friends.  From 2008 to 2012 she took yearly bus trips with her children, grandchildren and friends and dearly treasured these experiences.  She referred to her “greatest accomplishment” as being the Mother of her “Seven Beautiful Children”, along with a few of her childrens’ friends.  She leaves behind Nick (and Charlotte) Barrack, Mary (and Paul) Prue, Joannie (and Richard) Ptacek, Louie (and Cindy) Barrack, Rita (and Ron) Galle, Danny (and Paula) Barrack and Julie (and Dean) Morris.  She leaves 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren (with two more on the way), 12 great great grandchildren and many, many close friends and relatives and her cat. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Chuck Statham and her grandson, Richie Ptacek.

Her granddaughter may have described her best with these words:

“When I think of her life, I think of a woman who didn’t strive to acquire more but had enough.  A woman of gratitude who chose to be content in the simple blessings of life and in loving the family God entrusted to her.  What a legacy she has left for those who got to be loved by her. “

She will be greatly missed by all!
