Martin George “Bill” Hunter, 83, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023. Services will be held on Thursday, May 18th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO, with visitation from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. followed by the funeral at 6:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19th in Hunter Memorial Gardens in Linn Creek, MO.
Bill was born May 5, 1940, in Hobart, Oklahoma, the son of Tillman and Florence (Everhart) Hunter. He worked at General Motors as an assembler. Bill enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards with family and friends, and he pitched underhand fast pitch until he was 50. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren being around him.
Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Daughtrey; son, John Hunter; his parents; and five siblings.
His survivors include his wife, Dessie Hunter; son, Timmy Hunter (Stacie); daughter-in-law, Yvonne Hunter; eight grandchildren: Misty O’Dell, Nicholas O’Dell, Natalie Alcott, Samantha Daughtrey, Garland Gilbert, Alex Hunter, Cody Hunter, Sara Rios, and John T. Hunter; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nine siblings.
