Marvella “Markie” Elaine Golden, 84, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Royer Funeral Home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley, MO 64029 with graveside service to follow at Floral Hills East Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at the funeral home. Family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers. www.alz.org
Marvella was born April 18, 1938 in Fairplay, Missouri. Daughter of Cletus McKinley and Effie Deeda (Sullivan) Hawkins. She lived the best years of her life with her beloved husband, Dallas, of over 40 years. Markie spent a portion of her career as a switchboard operator before moving into real estate. She was an active member of the Grain Valley school board for many years. Markie enjoyed antiquing and seeking out a great bargain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Golden; son, Larry “Joe” Lungstrum; father, Cletus Hawkins; mother, Effie Hawkins; siblings: Emagene, Alberta, Roberta, Loretta, Kenneth, Wanda, and Carol.
Marvella is survived by her children: David Lungstrum (Sherrie) of Lee’s Summit, MO. and Jeffrey Golden (Dawn) of Buckner, MO; grandchildren: Anthony Terrazas (Kari), Hollie Dos Santos (David), Dallas “DK” Lungstrum, Andrea Friend, Kate Schiermeyer (Brad), Alana Golden, and Austin Golden; 6 great-grandchildren.
