Mary Frances (Sudduth) Stokes, 87, of Chapel Hill, MO went to be with our Lord on Monday, June 8, 2020. A Memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO.
Mary was born to James and Lillian (Wilkinson) Sudduth on January 12, 1933 in Bates City, MO. She was a housewife who helped raise 6 children. Mary worked at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and Macy’s department store. She enjoyed her work at William Yates Elementary School as a cafeteria worker. Mary loved spending time with her family, and she enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune. She looked forward to the time she spent with her grandchildren. Mary enjoyed family gatherings and
was instrumental in keeping the Stokes and Wilkinson family reunions going for years. She loved learning about her family’s ancestry. Mary had a smile and a laugh that were unforgettable. She gave unconditional love to everyone she knew. Mary was kind and loving to family and friends as well as anyone she met. She adored her grandchildren and was so proud of all of them.
Mary is survived by 5 adult children: Sherry Radford (Richard), Dennis Wright (Shannon), Chris Wright, Sherry Miller (Brent), and Scott Stokes (Angela); 20 grandchildren: Jason Hackler, Jamie Hackler, Cody Wright, Justin Wright, Laura Wright, Travis Wright, Nathaniel Stokes, Johnathan Stokes, Ryan Reynolds (Jackie), Lindsey Reynolds (Brad), Corrie Shaw (Patrick), Bobby Miller, Aaron Attebury (Leslie), Terry Stokes, Misty Lawson (John), Diana Attebury, Steve Chastain Jr. (Emily), Maria Chastain (Cole), Miranda Chastain (Chance), and Christine Chastain (Jessie); 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne M. Stokes; sister Loetta Davis; brother Marvin Sudduth; her first husband Presley Wright; her mother Lillian Sudduth; her father James Sudduth; step-daughter Deborah Stokes, grandfather Joseph Wilkinson; grandmother Viola Wilkinson; uncle Buddy Wilkinson; and aunt Mary (Wilkinson) Corba.
