Mary Harriet Martin, 79, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Centerpoint Medical Center surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Mary was born on October 14, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Harry W. and Marreta L. (Motley) Brown. She was a 1960 graduate of Southeast High School in Kansas City, MO. Mary and her husband owned Oak Grove Jewelry and then later Martin’s Jewelry in Odessa, MO. She loved painting, playing games, spending time with her family and friends, and she especially loved her little dog, Lexie.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul R. Brown.
Her survivors include her son, Norman J. Martin Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Oak Grove; her daughter, Sherri R. Emehiser and her husband, Roger, of Odessa; four grandchildren: Beth Jefferies and her husband, Derek, of Sibley, MO, Nema Hensly and her husband, Zoron, of Oak Grove, Hannah Martin of Oak Grove, and Joel Martin of Oak Grove; one great-grandchild, Zane Martin of Sibley; two nieces, Nancy Bender and her husband, Glenn, of Oak Grove, and Rhonda Dixon of Higginsville, MO; and several other family members and close friends.
