
Mary June (Cadle) Hilburn, 82, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Kansas City Hospice House, surrounded by her husband, John Vernon Hilburn Sr. and her loving family. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 24th at Lee’s Summit Seventh Day Adventist Church, 12501 S. 7 Hwy., Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, Mary’s wishes were to have contributions sent to the Kingsville Seventh Day Adventist Church for their school.
Mary was born June 22, 1935, in Marshall, Missouri, the daughter of James M. and Mary A. (Bailey) Cadle. She was a woman of many talents. Mary was an accomplished china painter, porcelain doll maker, and watercolor painter. She was a wonderful florist and did arrangements for many occasions. Mary was a past President of St. Charles and Kansas City 1 Chapters of the Social Order of the Beauceant. She also sang bass with the Sweet Adelines Quartet and played the organ and piano. Mary raised and enjoyed riding behind her beloved Arabian horses in her buggies. She was well traveled and lived in many places with her husband John.
Mary is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Vernon Hilburn Sr.; three children: John V. Hilburn Jr. (Margie), Mary K. Garcia, and Carla Creswell (Dale); six grandchildren: Jennifer Dromey (Michael), Rebecca Fruits (David), Jason Hansmann (Nichole), Ashlee Creswell (Donald), Sarah Garcia, and Renee Creswell; nine great-grandchildren: Henry, Jack, and Josephine Dromey, Ardun and Bennett Fruits, Bella Hoffman, Killian Creswell, Alyssa Farage, and Michelle Hansmann; and three brothers: James Cadle of KS, John Cadle of AR, and Ralph Cadle of IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Cadle, and her sister, June Bailey Cadle.
