Mary Ruth Mendoza (Brumfield), of Blue Springs, MO, passed away December 30, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by family. Mary was born July 20, 1950, in Kansas City, MO.

Mary enjoyed reading, playing cards, listening to the “oldies”, Mexican food, helping others, but most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She graduated high school from Wyandotte High School. She continued her education at Penn Valley Community College where she graduated from nursing school. She was a long time para­professional for Turner School District, as well as a nurse with Independence Regional Hospital.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Marvin Brumfield and Mary Marie Brumfield. She is survived by her brother Nelson (Peggy) Brumfield of Polo, MO; daughters: Marie (Joel) Hambleton of Oak Grove, MO, Suzanne (Ryan) Mendoza-Gulley, Jean Ann (Pio) Malaeulu, Jacqueline  Mendoza, and Molly Mendoza, all of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren: Kyla, Dallas, Anna, Alyssa, Matai, Taron, Mardoqueo, Juliana, and Lauren; great-grandchildren: Kamdyn, Penelope, Giavana, Chase, Miabella, Laureli, and Rylan; and bonus siblings: Stephanie Shahan, Kent Shahan, and Jennifer Wittmers.  She was loved dearly by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Mary’s family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers that were dedicated during her time of need.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1:00 – 4:00pm at Life Point Crossing, 4116 NW R.D. Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015. At the family’s request, please send all flowers to the church.
