Michael Joe Cox born on February 23, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Saturday January 1st 2022 at 66 years old.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday February 19th 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Blue Springs Assembly 2501 East Duncan Road Blue Springs, Missouri 64029.
Michael, or “Grizz” as most knew him, was a loving and devoted father of 3 children, Ashleigh, Joshua, and Michaela. He enjoyed spending his days spoiling his kids, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. Michael spent 3 years and 10 months in the United States Navy, serving his time in bootcamp in Great Lakes, Michigan and later stationed in Norfolk, Virginia on the USS Talbot.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Wilbur Cox, and Rosemary Cox, and his brother Russell Cox.
He leaves behind siblings Marilyn Mora, Howard Cox, Cathy Schlup, Jim Cox, and Kevin Cox, and his three children Ashleigh Cox, Joshua Cox, and Michaela Cox. He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, David & Evan, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews.

7 Feb 2023I knew Michael for many years I knew when he was dating my mom and in the eighties he was a good guy from Houston Texas is very sad that he passed away I’ve lost a couple of people from the covid too and said that he passed I was looking to get hold of him??
I’ve lost weight too many people in the last 5 years it’s painful I actually liked him a lot, Don’t know exactly why he wanted to go by grizz but to each his own?
He will be missed!
