Michael “Mike” Lynn Goodson, 67, of Independence, MO passed away August 1, 2022 at his home.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery.
Mike was born November 14, 1954 in Kansas City, MO to A.C. & Anita (Schimek) Goodson. He loved any kind of car racing. Mike enjoyed Ft. Osage High School and Chiefs Football, the Royals and Little League World Series. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything outdoors. Mike loved spending time with his family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents: A.C. Goodson & Anita Goodson; daughter: Dawn Michelle Goodson; brother: Johnny Goodson.
Mike is survived by his wife Jeri; children: Mandy Cornell (Nate), Shawn Goodson, Josh Goodson (Kiesha Kelly-Goodson); grandchildren: Blake Cornell, Ashlyn Cornell, Breck Cornell, Effie Goodson, Ramesses Goodson; sister: Cindy Elling (Rick); brother: Daniel Goodson (Tammy) and many nieces and nephews.
