Naomi Ruth (Frederick) McFee of Oak Grove Missouri was born on June 28, 1936 and went to sleep in Jesus on October 21, 2021. She was survived in death by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Marvin McFee, son Dr. Steven McFee and his wife Linda, daughter Stephanie Zacharias and her husband Mickey and their 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Gracie, Quinn, Johnny, and Annie. She was preceded in death by her parents Q. and Mabel Frederick, brothers David Frederick and Junior Frederick and sister Cherie Frederick.
Naomi was born in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated high school from Enterprise Academy in 1954 and from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska with a BS in nursing in 1958. She was working at Menorah Medical Center as a floor nurse when a coworker set her up on a blind date with Kenneth. Kenneth always says she fell for him on their second date, but he often “forgets” to mention they went skating. They fell in love and married on September 2, 1962. A year and a month later they were blessed with their first child, Steven and three years later their second, Stephanie. With the arrival of Steve, Naomi became a full-time mom. And like everything she did, she did it well. The family moved from their first home in Kansas City to Oak Grove on a little farm where Naomi and Kenneth lived for over 50 years. Naomi made the house a home full of love where company was always welcome. Naomi was a member of the Oak Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church and she considered the members of her church her extended family. She worked hard for the church teaching Sabbath school, helping with fellowship meals, playing the organ and organizing. As one of her good friends said, “She was bossie.” Naomi’s priorities were her family, her friends, her relationship with God and sharing the joy of God with others, and her Yorkshire Terrier, Baby. She now rests from her labors awaiting the resurrection day when she will hear “well done my good and faithful servant.”
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25th in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO.
