Norine Lucy Wells, 81, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Norine was born on March 5, 1945, in Hays, Kansas, to Richard and Severia Hillman. On July 14, 1962, in Great Bend, Kansas, she married the love of her life, Martin Wells, and together they shared many years of devotion and companionship.
Norine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved needlepoint, crocheting, and embroidery, and she enjoyed baking and spending time visiting with friends and family. She especially treasured time with her cousins, often gathering for lunches filled with laughter and stories. Norine also enjoyed getting her hair done, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, and sending thoughtful cards to those she cared about. Known for her kindness and generosity, Norine truly had a heart of gold and a deep love for her husband and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carol; her daughter, Stella; and her son, Monty.
Norine is survived by her loving husband, Martin Wells Sr.; her children, Martin Wells Jr. (Phyllis), John Wells (Vicki), and Shalyne Yearsley (Jason); her cherished four-legged daughter, Stella Marie; three grandsons; her brother, Steve Hillman; her sister, Cora Duncan; her brother, Amiel Hillman; and many beloved cousins and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
