Douglas E. Prettyman

Douglas Eugene Prettyman, 67, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at his home in Oak Grove, Missouri.

Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, on October 28, 1958, he was the son of Charles T. and Joyce (Snow) Prettyman.  Douglas was a resident of Lone Jack, Missouri, most of his life and had worked for Beemer Construction out of Blue Springs, MO, Redford Construction of Raymore, MO, and RL Snow Construction of Raytown, MO.  He worked hard and played hard. Douglas loved to ride horses and was a jockey in his younger years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting, and spending time in his garden.

Douglas was preceded in death by his father, Charles Prettyman, and his wife, Brenda (Snelling) Prettyman.

His survivors include his son, Ryan Prettyman; his mother, Joyce Cox; daughter; Breanna Prettyman, sister, Cindy White (Mike), brother, Steve Prettyman (Carol), and sister, Peggy Prettyman; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
