Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, November 5th from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. The family requests potted plants or memorial contributions to American Cancer Society.
Jackie Williams was born on April 16, 1952, to Anna P. Hein and Jack Hein. A kind and outgoing person, Jackie made friends easily and brought warmth to the many communities she called home.
Jackie graduated with honors from Oak Grove High School in 1970. During high school, she was involved in numerous activities: she was a majorette, played bass clarinet in the band, and participated in choir and French Club. In her senior year, she won the Betty Crocker Future Homemaker of Tomorrow contest. She often helped her mother at Ann’s Drive-In, a favorite gathering place for local high school students. Jackie loved her black Corvair and enjoyed taking friends along while running errands.
She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Missouri State University. Jackie later met the love of her life, Mike. After a short engagement, they married in 1980 in Mike’s native England, where they lived for several months before returning to the United States.
Jackie and Mike lived in Nixa, Missouri. Jackie served as president of the Newcomers Club and worked in the business department of an insurance agency, writing commercial policies. After Mike received a job offer, they moved to Fruit Heights, Utah. There, Jackie worked for the State of Utah in leadership and job services. She spearheaded a local apprenticeship program that paired applicants with employers, earning national recognition for her work.
Jackie and Mike loved traveling the world, and Alaska and Hawaii cruises were especially dear to her. She often brought her mother along. She also enjoyed snow ski-ing. After their travels abroad, they bought a motor coach and spent two years traveling before relocating to Bates City, Missouri.
A devoted sports fan, Jackie cheered for the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, Missouri Tigers, and Utah Utes. She was also a devoted David Cook fan and was fortunate to see him perform live in concert, surrounded by her family.
Jackie had a deep love for animals, especially Lhasa Apsos. She will be dearly missed by her beloved Weston and Camelot, as well as by all those whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Hein; her sister, Evelyn R. Montgomery; and her brother, John D. Burns.
Jacquiline is survived by her loving husband, Mike; her sister, Virginia A. (husband Charles deceased) Goodman; brother, William L. (Ellen) Hein; and several nieces and nephews.
Jacquiline will be remembered with love by her family and all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
