Jo Ann Ruyle

Jo Ann Ruyle, 80, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026. A visitation will be held Friday, August 21, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri, followed by a service at 7:00 p.m.

Jo Ann was born on December 19, 1945, to Burton and Josephine Mathews. She dedicated many years to the Blue Springs School District Transportation Department, where she worked as a trainer, driver, and dispatcher. Her commitment to her work and the people she served was an important part of her life. Jo Ann enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She loved reading, cross-stitching, and cheering on her favorite teams, the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Josephine Mathews, and her beloved husband, George.

She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Santarini (Jeff) of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Dawn Creswell (Mark) of Grain Valley, Missouri; her grandchildren, Zach Ivey (Katie) of Raymore, Missouri, Kodi Creswell of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Alexandra Ivey of Blue Springs, Missouri; her sister, Marilyn Zimmerman of Grand Junction, Colorado; and her great-grandchildren, Sylar Ivey, Jaxson Ivey, Jemma Ivey, and Amelia Ivey. She is also survived by her nephew, Shane Lueker (Melyshea) of Brighton, Colorado, and her niece, Stacy Lueker of Grand Junction, Colorado.

Jo Ann will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for the life she shared with them and the many memories she leaves behind.
