John A. Coyazo
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Anthony Coyazo, who left this world peacefully on August 19, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a man who loved deeply, lived life on his own terms, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
John was preceded in death by his beloved sister, whom he was reunited with just one year and two days after her passing. His brother Jesse, His parents, and grandparents. And his grandson, Myland Edward.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Denise Friend, children, John Nicholas “Nick” Coyazo (Korie), and Amy Nichole Coyazo, as well as his grandchildren Hallie, Daisy, Santiago, Mackenzie, Jason Jr. “JR,” Sophia, Mateo, Jakob, Cristian, Corina, and a baby granddaughter on the way. John also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, and nephews who meant the world to him. He loved them all, no matter what, and his family will forever carry the memories, stories, laughter, and love they shared with him.
John proudly served his country as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He loved the thrill of jumping out of airplanes as a paratrooper and was honored as Paratrooper of the Month many times throughout his service. His military service was an important part of who he was, and his courage, strength, and adventurous spirit will always be remembered.
John’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the VA, Assisting Hands, Kansas City Hospice, and all of the friends, family members, and caregivers who helped care for John, visited him, brought food, shared stories, offered prayers, and surrounded our family with love and support during his final days.
John’s family would also like to give sincere gratitude to From the Earth-Raytown and Kansas City Cannabis-Blue Springs for their continued support in allowing us to care for him.
John’s life was filled with family, stories, adventures, laughter, and memories that will continue to live on through all who loved him. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every moment we were given with him.
