Larry E. Skelton
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Larry E. Skelton, who departed this life at the age of 82. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
Larry lived a long life filled with experiences, challenges, and moments that became part of his story. Larry also served in the United States Marine Corps. His military service represents an important chapter in his life and a legacy that deserves to be remembered with respect and gratitude.
For the past 14 years, Larry shared his life in marriage with his wife, Katy. Together, they built a life and a story that will remain in the memories of their loved ones. He was also the father of Lorin and Robert, who hold an important place in his family’s story.
In the later years of his life, Larry faced the challenges of dementia and required specialized care. Although this illness brought difficult changes, his life retained its dignity and worth.
Today, we say goodbye to Larry with sadness, but also with respect for the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. We especially extend our heartfelt support to Katy and the entire family during this time of mourning, wishing them comfort, strength, and peace.
The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 34:18:
“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted.”
May this promise be a source of comfort to his loved ones, and may the presence of God sustain them through the difficult days ahead.
