Linda E. Dodd

Linda Esther Dodd, 93, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Silverado Memory Care in Lee’s Summit, MO. Funeral services will be held at New Life Church in Oak Grove, MO, Monday October 5, 2026, with visitation at 12:00 and funeral at 1:00, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Linda was born on September 15, 1933, in Sugar City, Colorado, the daughter of George and Emma (Windecker) Gerlock. On September 29, 1949, she married Lloyd Dodd in Sugar City. Linda was a devout Christian, a very classy lady, and a total sweetheart. She adored her family and was very proud of them. She was strong and smart and loved to talk about politics and the weather. Linda enjoyed listening to birds, laying in her recliner, going to car shows, and bowling. She worked at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit as a housekeeper for 27 years. Everyone at Silverado loved her.

Linda was preceded in death her parents; husband, Lloyd in 2008; two daughters, Kelly Coleman and Debbie Unkenholz; and a son, Dennis Dodd. Her survivors include her son, Jeffrey Dodd (Susan) of Independence, MO; son, Mike Dodd (Christy) of Garden City, MO; daughter, Tammy Posner of Lenexa, KS; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
