Norma J. Ditto

Norma Jean Ditto, 98, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, at Ignite St. Mary’s. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on September 18, 2026, at Valley Memorial Gardens at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the service time.

Norma was born on September 9, 1928, in Atlantic, Iowa, the youngest of five children born to Gordon and Eva Howe. She was raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1946. She married James “Jim” Ditto in 1976.

Norma worked for 25 years as a secretary, bookkeeper, and controller at Jim Bixler & Associates before retiring. Following retirement, Norma and Jim moved to Shell Knob, Missouri, where they enjoyed their home on Table Rock Lake. Norma found joy in many simple pleasures. She loved dancing, crafting, quilting, book club, Sudoku, and crossword puzzles. Some of her happiest times were spent at the lake with her grandchildren. She was also a member of Blue Springs Christian Church.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, James Ditto; her parents, Gordon and Eva Howe; her brothers, Gerald and Robert; her sisters, Ruth and Mildred; her stepson, David Ditto; and her great-grandson, Theodore Walkup.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann McDevitt (Glen); her son, Thomas Page (Joyce); stepdaughters, Deb Schuster and Denise Phillips (Dan); two granddaughters; three step-granddaughters; three step-grandsons; five great-grandchildren; numerous nephews; and a special friend, Marvin Yakel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Springs Christian Church.

Norma will be remembered for her warm spirit, her love of family, and the many years of memories she created with those she loved, especially around the lake she called home.
