Ray Allen France, 90, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13th at the Oak Grove Christian Church; burial in Sni Mills Cemetery, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Christian Church or Show-Me Youth Home.
Ray was born August 28, 1927, in Oak Grove, Missouri, the son of Cecil and Alleene (Booker) France. He married Peggy Sue Stephenson on July 2, 1950. Ray served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War. He was a diesel mechanic at Union Quarries. He was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church, and enjoyed gardening, fixing things, and spending time with his family.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Cecil France; his mother, Alleene France Warren; brothers, John Robert France and Cecil France; sister, Margaret Rider; and great-grandson, Riley Deatherage.
His survivors include his wife, Peggy France of the home; 3 daughters: Pauletta France Isetts of Oak Grove, Darlene Burns of Oak Grove, and Marlene Johnson (Steven) of Odessa, MO; 11 grandchildren: Michelle Deatherage (Larry) of Odessa, Jeremy Burns (Kristy) of Oak Grove, Peggy Hobson (Phil) of Odessa, Tricia Bixler (Ryan) of Odessa, Destiny Reighard (Clinton) of Odessa, Ray Isetts (Kara) of Oak Grove, Nicole Morgan (Anthony) of Oak Grove, Rick Thomas of Bear Lake, MI, Laura Sidwell of Centerview, MO, Lee Isetts III of Centerview, and Amy Isetts of Centerview; 32 great-grandchildren: Nickolas Webb, Samantha Webb, Jax Deatherage, Reagan Deatherage, Shelby Briggs, John Burns, Aerian Burns, Steven Hobson, Mikaylee Hobson, Liberty Hobson, Dyllan Johnson, Damion Bixler, Justyce Bixler, Remington Bixler, Madyson White, David White, Derek White, Hunter Reighard, Bob Thomas, Tony Thomas, Brad Isetts, Cheyanne Isetts, Mickinzie Keinath, Lillie Keinath, Katherine Isetts, Rachel Isetts, Madison Isetts, William Ware, Leah Robinette, Emily Sobba, Ray Isetts Jr, and Gunner Isetts; 2 great great-grandchildren: Carson George and Kaylee Rose; 3 siblings: Marion France, Roberta Watts and Verda Wheatly.
