Ricky “Rick” Dale Addis, 58, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on January 15, 2022. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove. At 2:00 p.m., we will proceed to Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO, for the committal service.
Rick was born in Oswego, Kansas on January 19, 1963, to Roger and Dorothy Addis. He married Andrea Tacke on July 13, 1992. He was an Army combat veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Rick also served in Somalia for Operation Restore Hope. He completed numerous non-combat assignments in the U.S. and abroad including Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and Army recruiter. Rick had a distinguished military career and was honored with the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation (3rd Award), Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), the Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), and the National Defense Medal. He retired from the U.S. Army in March of 2002. He then worked with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office before retiring in 2018. His most recent employment was with Rob’s Trucking of Oak Grove.
He was a proud and loving husband, father, brother, opa, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea; his sons, David Brewer and Justin Addis; his daughter, Claudia Cason; his siblings, Jimmy Evans and his wife Tonya, Debbie Addis, Diana Gravett and her husband Jordy, Rhonda Anderson and her husband Doug, and Roger Addis and his wife Jayne; and his grandchildren, Deniyah, Amber, Sam, Penny, and D.J. Rick is also survived by his longtime and dearest friend, Robert Thomas.
