Robert Lee Davis, 84, formerly of Sibley, MO, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at his home in Holden, MO. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 23rd at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, MO, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and funeral at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial in Buckner Hill Cemetery, Buckner, MO.
Robert was born September 7, 1940, in Little Blue, MO, the son of Frank O. and Mary H. (Hoffman) Davis. He was a maintenance technician at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, retiring in 2002 after 23 years of service. Robert loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, mowing his lawn, and taking family vacations. He also loved woodworking and made numerous cherished keepsakes for family members. Robert was known as Mr. Fix It – he could work on anything and everything. He designed, constructed, and installed a wood burning stove that he was really proud of and talked about often. More than anything, Robert loved his family and spending time with them. He adored his wife and worried about her until his last breath.
Robert’s survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carol A. Davis of the home; three children: Lisa Mitchell (David) of Wellington, MO, Stacy Gorham (Larry) of Kingsville, MO, and Troy Davis (Shelli) of Holden, MO; nine grandchildren: Amanda, Joseph, Colton, Morgan, Kyndal, Mikayla, Dalton, Breanna, and Tayler; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
