Rosalie A. Kolster


Rosalie Ann Kolster, age 90, peacefully passed on January 13, 2023, at The Parkway Senior Living in Blue Springs, Missouri. She had been a resident there for a year and a half with her husband and love of her life, Harvey Kolster. They shared a beautiful marriage for 68 years. Rosalie was a loving mother to four children, a proud grandmother to eleven and was brought much joy by her ten great grandchildren. She was loved by everyone that was blessed to know her. She modeled what Jesus meant when he said love one another.

Rosalie truly enjoyed their church, Faith United Methodist, where she was a long time member, active in Bible Studies, Care Team and several other church leadership roles. She enjoyed living on acreage where she had a large flower bed and a rose garden. She hosted 4-H, family events, hayrides, and other groups there. Rosalie also loved traveling, camping with family as well as the United Methodist camping group. She spent several years as a classroom teacher where she started in a two-room school and ended her career teaching kindergarten for sixteen years at Oak Grove.

Rosalie was born on November 15, 1932 at home in Chilhowee, Missouri to Luther and Florence Dameron. 

Left to cherish her loving memory and celebrate her life are her husband, Harvey Kolster, brother, Luther Dameron Jr. (Florence), sister, Sharon Miller (John), her children Mary Nelson (Randy), Larry Kolster (Michele), Nancy Kassing (Craig) and Alan Kolster (Shona). Her grandchildren Jennifer Agnew, Daniel Nelson, Mark Nelson, Aaron Kolster, Matthew Kolster (Kate), Hailee Pavey (Michael), Wesley Kassing, Hannah Kassing, Tanner Kolster, Thalia Kolster, Cameron Kolster and Ryan Young along with her ten great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Florence Dameron and sister, Jane Kramer. 

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Faith United Methodist Church ~ Grain Valley, Missouri. Contributions can be made to Faith United Methodist Church ~ 1950 S.W. Eagles Pkwy, Grain Valley, MO. 64029.

  1. Sorry to hear of Rosalie’s passing. Last time I visited her sister, Sharon, we talked of Rosalie. May God surround you at this time of loss with his love and peace.
