Rose M. Hunt


Family and friends, we will greatly miss the smile and laughter of Rose Mary Hunt (maiden name Hendricks), 92 years young at heart. Rose Mary passed on October 9, 2022 at 6:AM in Kansas City, MO. She’ll have graveside remembrance service October 15th @ 3pm in Grain Valley, MO at Valley Memorial Gardens, and a subsequent remembrance service at Unity Village Rose Garden at the Tower @ 3pm, October 23 rd for those who want to attend an alternate remembrance. Born in Rosedale, KS, she is the daughter of predeceased parents – Robert H Hendricks and Ethel M Hendricks of Miller County, MO near Tuscumbia. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters Olive Pumphrey, Juanita Kendal, and Charlene Bailey. She had two brothers Robert (Bobby) Hendricks and George Hendricks with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Rose Mary is the Mother of four (4) children – Linda Jean Thompson, Kathleen Sue Page, George L Hunt, Jr. and Rose L Kyees. Rose Mary also has eight (8) grandchildren (Jeff Fisher, Bryan Thompson, Gary Fisher, Tamara Carrell, Chad Fisher, Crystal Hunt, Jennifer Meysenburg, David Piland with 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Rose Mary lived a long fulfilling life with numerous joys most of which was her entire family. She retired from the VA Medical Center in 1997 and then worked at Sears Part time. She had many hobbies and joys as she was a fine dancer in her early years right up to retirement. She loved crochet and was a master at making beautiful dolls with bell of the ball dance dresses. Her favorite hobbies included gardening in the home she owned in Grain Valley, since 1978 with large gardens often tended by son and grandchildren later in life, although she did most of the work herself until she was 85 years young. She is someone who had true character with love for each of her grandchildren and lived for the joy it brought to the children she had in life. Being very independent, she was a firm believer in you can do anything when you set your mind to it and with God’s strength. The family sends her off with Psalms 103: 1-2 Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name Bless the Lord of O soul forget not All his benefits…!
