Roxann D. Littlejohn

Roxann (ROXY) Denise Littlejohn gained her halo and angel wings peacefully at her home in Oak Grove, Missouri on Monday, August 15, 2022. A “Celebration of Her Life” will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the Oak Grove Webb Park Shelter House #1, 800 SE Oak Ridge Dr, Oak Grove, Mo 64075. Get together will be from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Due to Roxy’s fetish for potatoes, it will be catered with a baked potato bar. Cold drinks, salad, cookies and all the fixings etc. for your potato.

Roxy was born to Mark Snell and Muriel Snell on February 25, 1956, in North Platte, Nebraska. When Roxy was two years old, her father’s job moved him to Kansas City in 1958 and Raytown in 1961. Roxy graduated from Raytown South where she was a member of the Cardettes dance team in 1974. She attended Northwest Missouri State. On October 1, 1977 she was married to Gary Dougherty. They had two children and lived in Blue Springs. A daughter Ashley and a son Jeffrey. They avidly followed their children through their sports careers. Gary coached baseball teams and Roxy was the true baseball Mom.

After 25 years they parted ways amicably on March 13, 2003.

Roxy eloped with Gary Littlejohn and they were married in Las Vegas on August 17, 2004. Their anniversary was to be Wednesday after 18 years. They built a house just North of Oak Grove on 11 acres. Together they raised Fainting Miniature Goats, a loving passion of Roxy’s. Also adding 4 Appaloosa horses and one Doberman dog named Raylan. They had a large garden and enjoyed canning vegetables. Roxy loved Diamond Arts hobby, grilling ribs, baking and her KC Chiefs. An avid follower of the KC Royals which she never missed a chance of watching on tv every game.

She had three different fights against cancer and her final fight with heart disease. The Lord was her love and her physician in all of them. Sunday mornings she was following her church streaming their services. She never would allow anyone to feel sorry about her battles. During these times, she would become a very private person.

Preceding her in death was her father, Mark Snell (2022). She is survived by her loving mother Muriel Snell, Raymore, MO. Daughter Ashley Brummett and her husband Ryan and their daughter Mayla of Leadville, Colorado. Son Jeffrey Dougherty, wife

Stevy and their daughter Collins and their son Parker of Blue Springs, Mo. Brother Randy Snell and his wife Jeanne of Raymore, MO. Brother Roger Snell and his wife Katie of Topeka, Kansas.

She is survived by Gary Littlejohn’s family children. Jason Littlejohn and Nicole Lanza with daughter Talisa from Raymore, MO. Jared Littlejohn and Jill with sons Easton and Callan from Blue Springs, Mo. Ashley Mulcahy with son Corbin and daughter Arya from Lees Summit, Mo. Roxy leaves behind 4 Nephews 1 niece and 8 grandchildren (4 boys and 4 girls), two brother inlaws and three sister inlaws . They will miss out on her Santa collection at Christmas when she would decorate the house with 52 different types. The house would be transformed into Roxy Land during the holidays.

It is her wishes that her body be cremated like her father and when her husband joins her. Nobody should feel distraught over her passing. Per her wishes, she is joining her Daddy and her Grandma Nana and will be overjoyed to be with them. We all want to wish her well.

Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together, Psalm 34:3. This was her daily prayer blessing from her journal on August 15 when she passed on to her heavenly passage.

  1. Roxy always had a sparkle in her eyes and was up for some good natured mischief. She is alive and well in her beautiful perfect spiritual body in paradise!

1Corinthians 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

    May peace replace heartaches
    And may warmest memories remain

Keeping your family in my prayers for God to send strength and comfort.

A Friend of Roxy’s from college days.

  2. Love that sweet lady. We could laugh over nothing. We both would eat anything that resembled a potato. I loved her goat stories and pictures. She listened to me about family happenings and I listened to her. She loved the farm. She was beautiful inside and out. I followed her with her sickness’s but I did not know about her heart. She will be missed. Gone to soon.
