Sandy J. Heyer


Sandy Jo Heyer, 65, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018.  Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 29th at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, with visitation from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., and Memorial Mass following at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sandy Heyer Memorial Fund at fundrazr.com/sandyheyer.

Sandy was born October 28, 1952 in Independence, Missouri, one of three children born to James and Frances McClenahan.  For over thirty years, Sandy and her husband Duffy, operated the B&D South Skate Center while being involved in the community.  She enjoyed traveling with her family, supporting her children and friends, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.  Sandy and Duffy were long-time members of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.  She had an infectious smile that she was always ready to share with friends and strangers alike.  To know Sandy, was to love her.

Her survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Duffy Heyer; son, Tony Heyer; daughter, Janel (Heyer) Robinson and her husband Ernie; and four grandchildren.  Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Kenneth McClenahan and Gary Maybell.
