Shirley N. Kirk


Shirley Nadine Kirk, 80, of Hale, Missouri, passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and family members.  Services will be held on Wednesday, October 20th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO, with visitation at 12:00 p.m. and the funeral at 1:00 p.m., with burial following at 3:00 p.m. in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.  Contributions may be made to H.E.L.P. Cancer Service or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Shirley was born May 23, 1941, in Odessa, Missouri, the daughter of Emmet Floyd and Edna Mae (Williams) Reynolds.  She married Thomas Roosevelt “Rody” Kirk on December 27, 1958.  Shirley was a housewife and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.  Most of all, she loved her Lord and loved serving Him.  She was a member of Hale Baptist Church.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Rody” Kirk; her parents, Floyd & Edna Reynolds; two brothers, James Douglas Reynolds and John Glenn Reynolds; and a grandson, Uriah Tate Cox.

Her survivors include her son, Gordon Ray Kirk (Dawn) of Hale, MO; daughter, Kimberly Kay Cox (Clifton) of Odessa, MO; 4 brothers: Bill Reynolds of Peculiar, MO, Darrell Reynolds (Alisha) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Charles Reynolds of Kansas City, MO, and Monty Sorden (Linda) of St. Louis, MO; 2 sisters: Delores Kirk and Barbara Royer (Pete), both of Oak Grove, MO; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a faithful servant of the Lord, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She will be loved and missed greatly by all who knew her.
