Sonja Aloha Headley, 84, died on April 4, 2022, surrounded by her loving daughters. Her memorial service will be on Monday, April 25 at the Oak Grove Church of Christ, 104 SW 6th Street, Oak Grove, MO. Visitation will be from 11 -12, with a service at 12. A meal will be served for family immediately following.
Sonja was born on November 10, 1937, in Briar, MO, to the parents of Dewitt and Essie Fogle. She attended West Plains High School and graduated in 1955. Immediately following graduation, she moved to Kansas City to pursue her career goals. There she met and married Leo J. Crawford, and had 2 daughters. After 10 years they divorced. She later married Art Headley and was happily married until his death in July, 2010. She loved her home in Grain Valley, MO. She thoroughly enjoyed attending her Silver Sneakers class at the YMCA and treasured her membership at the Oak Grove Church of Christ.
Sonja is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Bryce and Durwood Fogle; and sister Bernice Gillian. She is survived by her daughters: Sheryl Crawford, Gayla O’Connor (Cain); and grandson, Dain O’Connor; nieces, and step-children. She will be dearly missed.

20 Apr 2022Sonja and I attended high school together. We shared an apartment in Kansas City and enjoyed our work and all our social activities. Sonja holds a special place in my heart. She was a lovely person.
