Stanley Wallace Baker, 81, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Thursday September 25, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 29th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Mo; burial with Military Honors in Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home The family suggests contributions to Three Rivers Hospice, 202 SW 10th Street Blue Springs, MO 64015.
Stan was born on June 21, 1927 in Kansas City, Mo, the son of Gail and Katherine (Hilsenbeck) Baker. He was raised in Maryville, MO. Stan served in the United States navy and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He graduated from UMKC School of Law and was a member of the Missouri Bar for over 50 years. Stan was an avid golfer whose many hobbies ranged from photography to flying airplanes.
His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley of the home; his son: Stuart Baker & his wife, Sherry, of Kansas City, MO; two daughters: Melanie Brink & her husband, Bernard, of Cleveland, MO, and Amy Mead & her husband, Bill, of Grand Island, NE; four granddaughters: Laurie, Nicole, Heather & Briana; two grandsons: Jamie & Sean; and two great-grandchildren: Jacob & Kira.
