Steven R. Gengler, 73, of Independence, Missouri passed away Monday, June 10, 2024. Services will be Friday, June 14, 2024 at St. Robert Bellarmine in Blue Springs, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. with Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Contributions may be made to St. Roberts Knights of Columbus.
Steven was born on November 27, 1950 in Watertown, South Dakota to Arnold and Edna (Erickson) Gengler. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and was a 4th degree Knight. Steven was a member of the Army Reserves. He was also a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish and formerly a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. He loved fishing and boating and was very fond of the old westerns. He cherished spending time with his grandkids and dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Nickie, Charles and Peter Gengler.
Steven is survived by his lovely wife of 51 years, Debbie Gengler; sons: Michael Gengler and Tim (Stacie) Gengler; grandchildren: Kristin Gengler, Karrin Gengler, Broedy Gengler; brothers: John (Joyce) Gengler, David (Cindy) Gengler; sisters: Karen (Roger) Sanders, Cathy (Gene) Butterfield; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
