Tammy Cox

On September 18, 2021, Tammy Cox passed into the loving arms of Jesus at the age of 61.  Her parents preceded her in death.  She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 40 years, James, her daughter Stephanie and son Jesse, and her brothers and sisters, Curt, Dawn, Dan, and Tracy.

The kindest of all souls, Tammy shared her golden heart wherever she went, always putting others first, and serving as a “Mom” figure to all she encountered.  She was deeply devoted to family as a daughter, sister, wife, and loving mother.  She spent her childhood years traveling the world with her military family, her teen years as a fast car enthusiast, and her adult years as an avid Chiefs fan.   She was a lover of nature, specifically the Colorado mountains.  She cared for animals of all kinds – both her own cats and dogs, and the wild birds that graced her yard.  The world has certainly lost a genuine caretaker with a thoughtful and gentle touch.

Services for Tammy will be held Friday, September 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 2400 US-50 Lee’s Summit, MO, with the visitation immediately prior, at 10:00 a.m.    Due to COVID, please wear a mask to visitation and services.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org, or The Polycystic Kidney Foundation, https://pkdcure.org.
