Terry B. Wright


Terry B. Wright, age 81, of Blue Springs, Missouri peacefully passed away on July 17, 2023. Terry was born on November 25, 1941 in Independence, Missouri. The son of  T.B. Wright and Nina (Willouby) Wright. Terry was the second of six brothers. He grew up in Independence, Missouri and attended William Chrisman High School where he graduated in 1958. After high school, he started working at Western Electric in Lee’s Summit, Missouri as a machinist for 35 years. Terry worked as a Welder and in Building Maintenance for Lucent Technologies of Lee’s Summit. After that, he worked in maintenance for Kohl’s Distribution Center in Grain Valley, Missouri. Terry met and married the love of his life Helen W. Wright in 1962. The two completed 60 years of marriage in March of 2022. Terry and Helen would love to take occasional trips together. Terry loved to golf, work on landscaping and gardening, and volunteering in the Church of God. Terry was very mechanically inclined including keeping up his car collections over the years. He was able to repair or build just about anything. He took pride in spending time with his family and grandchildren, and continuing relationships with lifelong friends. Terry and Helen were members of Perry Street Church of God, Pittman Road Church of God, and Woods Chapel Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers and wife.

He leaves behind four brothers; Harv of Independence, Missouri; Chuck (Nadine) of Warsaw Missouri; Jack of Thayer, Missouri; Cliff (Elizabeth) of Lampe, Missouri; son Doug (Robin) of Blue Springs; son Darin (Jessica) of Blue Springs; daughter Denise (Mike) of Union, Missouri; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley from 5-7 pm on July 27th, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice House, 3516 Summit St. Kansas City, MO 64111.
