Terry Edward Thomsen, 69, of Alma, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a Diabetes or Kidney foundation of the donor’s choice.
Terry was born December 30, 1954, in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Edward W. and Audrey E. (Tebow) Thomsen. He worked at Tyson Foods for over 20 years. Terry was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed watching and going to the races, watching the KC Chiefs and Royals, playing on bowling leagues, gardening with Judy, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Terry’s survivors include his wife, Judy Thomsen of the home; two sons: Chris Thomsen (Jill) of Independence, MO, and Tim Thomsen (Annette) of Chillicothe, MO; stepson, Shane Summers of Fulton, MO; three grandchildren: Samantha Thomsen, Austin Thomsen, and Maddie Obregon; great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Mae Thomsen; his mother, Audrey Mulkey of Concordia, MO; five siblings: Harold Thomsen, Patricia Nafe, Delores Gordon, Betty Welch, and Paul Mulkey; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, sister Karen Kerr, and stepfather Ray Mulkey.
