Vincent J. Messina Jr.


Vincent “Charlie” James Messina Jr., 82, of Sibley Mo passed away quietly at The Independence Manor in Independence MO on August 13, 2023.

Charlie was born to Vince and Delma Messina in Courtney Mo, on July 28, 1941. He was a 1959 graduate of Fort Osage High School.  Charlie joined the Navy and served 4 years. After the Navy Charlie lived most of his life in Sibley Mo on the family farm. Charlie enjoyed over the years searching for treasure in South America, going to the Casino, and buying Scratchers and Lottery tickets.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Vince and Delma Messina, sister Janice (Sis) Bridges, and 2 nephews Vincent Sanders and Larry Keith Brisban. 

Charlie is survived by 5 siblings Glenda Sanders of Leawood Ks, Carolyn Daley (Jim) of Independence MO, Terry Messina (Penny) of Independence, and Theresa Collins (Norman) of Lee’s Summit Mo. and Borther-in-Law Delbert Bridges of Sibley Mo.  13 Nieces and Nephews, 26 great Nieces and nephews and many great-great nieces and nephews.

Service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville Mo on August 24, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.

  4. So many wonderful memories of you when I was a kid being at our house with my mom your cousin Linda Kay (Wiseman) Dugger.
