Wanda Arlene Arends, 79, of Grain Valley (formerly of Lee’s Summit), passed away Friday, August 3, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 8th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; burial in Floral Hills East  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Royer’ s.

Wanda was born August 9, 1927 in Merriman, NE, the daughter of George & Ocy Kate (Goucher) McNamee. She married Clifford L. Arends on March 11, 1950 and they had been married 56 years when he died October 6, 2006. Wanda was a homemaker and mother.

Her survivors include two sons: Darrell Arends of Blue Springs and Bryan Arends & wife Debbie of Independence; three grandchildren: Charity  Wolfe & husband Matt, Mandy Chancery & husband Kris, and Matthew Arends & wife Jessica; four great­ grandchildren: Gavin, Kameryn, Emory, & Owen; a sister: Fem Whitecarver of Kennewick, WA; an aunt: Marge Arends of Independence; & cousins: Debbie, Diana & Denise and their families.

Rest in peace in the arms of Jesus, dear lovely Mother. We will all miss you and will see you again.
