Waneta Marie Rager, age 75, of Independence, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospice Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri where she spent her last days surrounded by loved ones. Waneta was born April 10, 1947 in Harvard, Iowa to Jesse and Eupha Murray and was the 12^th of 13 children. After graduating from high school, she moved to Independence, Missouri where she met and married Marvin Bruntmyer (1967-1989). They settled in Independence where they raised their 4 children together. Later she married Paul Rager (1999-2014). Waneta loved with all her heart and enjoyed going to her children’s school and sporting events. Her favorite role was as “Memaw”; and her grandkids were her pride and joy. Waneta is preceded in death by both of her parents, sister; Mina, brothers; Jesse, Johnny, Gene, Jimmy, and Bill, and grandson; Bradley. She is survived by her 4 children: Raymond Bruntmyer (Lisa), Daniel Bruntmyer (Angela), Lisa Thurmon and Laurie Hylton; 12 grandchildren: Joshua, Lauren, Travis, Justin, Natalie, Devin, Nikolas, Donoven, Shelby, Alyssa, Isabella and Tyler; 13 great-grandchildren: Gilbert, Elija, Alex, Jayden, Sonny-Anne, Ariel, Emi, Sloan, Kenzley, Lucas, Evan, Noelle, and Emberly. As well as her sisters: Mae, Betty, Barbara, and Mary; and brothers: Tommy and Ted. Services will be held Friday, May 13^th, 2022 at Epic Church in Independence, Missouri at 12:00pm with reception following.
