William “Bill” Hughes Benson of Oak Grove passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the age of 72. Bill died peacefully at home with his beloved wife Janet and their children by his side. 

Bill was born in Kansas City, Mo on January 24th, 1950, to father Frank Benson and mother Freddie Benson. The oldest of three sons, Bill was an engineer by training but held several positions throughout the years to make sure his family was cared for. He revelled in retirement where he spent his time with friends and family, worked on his classic cars, enjoyed country living and spent time with his dogs. His family was his pride and joy.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Janet; children Jessie (Thatcher) Hilyard and Brent (Courtney) Benson; grandbabies Blair, Paige and Oaklee; Brothers Steve Benson and Jim Benson; and countless other beloved friends and family. 

A private family service will be held with a celebration of life to be announced at a later day.
