William Clayton Wood, 51, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 379.
William was born July 24, 1970, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Lloyd R. and Nellie V. (Stevenson) Wood. He was a pipefitter for Local Union 533 and a member of American Legion Post 379. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the lake, and spending time with his grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Floyd Wood, Clarence Dale Wood, Lloyd Wood Jr., and Jerry Wood; and two sisters, Virginia Massey and Letha Burnett.
His survivors include three children: Kourtni Wood of Grain Valley, MO, Haleigh Bryant (Jacob) of Centerview, MO, and Maggie Wood of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren: Hunter, Paislee, Copeland, Ivie, Nora, and Maverick; three sisters: Bertha Jett of Independence, Rachel Wood of Oak Grove, and Sandra Dorrell (Paul) of Lone Jack, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
