William “Bill” Michael Burns, 76, of Sugar Creek, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Oaks of Edgewood Clubhouse, 1202 SW 10th Terrace, Oak Grove, MO 64075.
Bill was born October 31, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Jose Martinez and Eva Dunham. Bill was a proud Navy & Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was a corrections officer in Lansing for 25 years. Bill enjoyed drawing, watching movies, and was very talented at many things. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Cyndi Burns of the home; seven children; Bill Burns Jr., Gunter Vonlojewski, Kirsten Vonlojewski, Kurt Matousek (Becca), Patrick Burns (Lilly), Eric Burns (Kasey), and Joseph Burns (Janeece); many grandchildren; and several siblings.
