
Winifred Sappenfield, 90, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 in Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Grain Valley, Missouri.
Winifred was born May 18, 1932 in Independence, Missouri. Daughter of William Calvin and Ennis Artensie (White) Triplet. Mrs. Sappenfield was a Den Mother, and also worked with the Girl Scouts for over 6 years. She was a supervisor for the J.C. Penney Co. For about 11 years, a proof operator for M & M Bank, and later went to work as an auditor for Sears and Roebuck before moving to Sunrise Beach, in 1975. She bowled 4 nights a week and wrote stories for the bowling association. She is a member of the Eastern Star, Erie Chapter #132 of Camden County, Camdenton, Missouri. She is a researcher of family history, and has written and published many books about her own family, and about her husbands’ family as well. She is a member of the Spring bonnets Chapter of American Business Women in Blue Springs, Missouri. You could always find Caroline with Frank out on the lake fishing, in her office, or out doing research somewhere.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank who passed away in 2012; grandson: Chad Sappenfield; 3 sisters: Catherine, Woneta and Cheryle; 3 brothers: Calvin, Carl and Wayne Cecil.
Winifred is survived by her 2 children; daughter, Christine Pauley of Independence; son, George Sappenfield of Hermitage; 2 grandchildren: Nicholas Rusan and wife (Mary Smith) of Independence and Sara Sappenfield of Blue Springs; 2 brothers: Bud Triplett and Willie Triplet.
