Albert Arthur Helms, 72, also known as “Bucky, or Burt” of Oak Grove, MO (formerly of Pheonix, AZ and Kansas City, MO), passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010, at the Hospice House of Kansas City. Visitation will be 2-3 pm Sunday, August 14 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Graveside services will be 11 am Monday, August 15 at Park Lawn Cemetery, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO 64138. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, KCMO 64145.
Albert Arthur Helms was born July 11th, 1938, the third child and only son of Hazel Gladys Helms and Albert Martin Helms. Albert was preceded in death by his mother: Hazel Gladys (Millard) Helms; his father: Albert Martin Helms; his sisters: Barbara Mae (Helms) Miller, Shirley Lea (Helms) Patrick and Sharon Marie Helms.
Albert is survived by his aunt: Laura (Millard) Mieser of Independence, MO; a brother-in-law: James Patrick of Independence, MO; and several nephews and nieces.
Due to Albert’s Disease he was never married but will be missed by numerous friends who remember his gentle spirit, his great sense of humor and his childlike faith in Jesus Christ.
