Albert R. Keys Jr.


Albert Ray Keys Jr. , 86, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. A funeral will be held at 11:00 also at the funeral home; burial following in Valley Memorial Gardens.

Ray was born in Lee’s Summit, MO, son of Albert Ray Sr. and Sarah (Fetters) Keys. He and his wife Wendy have been married for 40 years. Ray worked for Timberline Lumber Company for over 30 years, Thomas & Associates Lumber Company for 12 years, Comprehensive Mental Health as a security guard for another 12 years, finally retiring at age 82. Ray loved tearing down and rebuilding things, he was quite the handyman. He loved yardwork, trains, John Wayne and other westerns. He was a member of Local 541 and First United Methodist Church, Grain Valley.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ray Sr. and Sarah Keys. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Keys of the home; children, Robert (Diane) Keys, Linda (William) Stevens, Debbi (Larry) Becker, Sue (Mark) Lyon, Donna (Russell) Young, Danny (Kari) Keys, Kathy Sanders, William ( Patti) Beaty, Ed (Gia) Beaty, Joyce (Ted) Reather, Deborah (Bill) Miller; sister, Norma Jean Rice; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
