Aspen Brittany Fugate, 29, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 at St. Luke’s Medical Center.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29^th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her mother, Mary Fugate.

Aspen was born on April 5, 1996, in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, loved music, and enjoyed doing makeup and nails.  Aspen was a hard worker and stubborn, but she was also very empathetic.  She always saw the good in people and always fought for the underdog.  Aspen always wanted a horse named Oreo!  Her greatest quest in life was to be a mom.  She loved her siblings and her Grams and adored her three cats and her dog, Blaze Michael.

Aspen was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Fugate; her daughter, Davia Jadore Fugate; and grandparents: Grandma LaVerne Fugate, Grandpa Harold Fugate, and Grandpa Jerry Mitchell.

Her survivors include her mother, Mary Fugate; three siblings: Robert Lopez II, Giovanna Lopez, and Rodney James II; her Grandma Peggy Mitchell; cousins, Brooklynn Aguilar and Ciera Aguilar; her best friend, Jennifer “Bae” Worley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
