Barbara Ann Mitchell, 72, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 28th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Barbara was born December 23, 1943, in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Buell and O. Dayne (Cone) Jones. She married Howard L. Mitchell Sr. in October 1961. Barbara worked as an Executive Assistant at Aquila and Utilicorp for many years. She was also an Avon representative for many years. Barbara enjoyed music, playing the piano, and reading. She dearly loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents. Her survivors include her husband of 54 years, Howard of the home; son, Howard Mitchell Jr. of Independence; daughter, Karen (Mitchell) & husband Mike Day of Odessa; five grandchildren: Heather & husband Stephen Richberg of Blue Springs, Brandy Mitchell of Blue Springs, Courtney Mitchell of Blue Springs, Garrett Day of Odessa, and Allyson Day of Odessa; two great-grandchildren: Stephen and Jaden; sister, Judy & husband Jim Pulliam of Big Canoe, GA; and nephew, Matthew Falcone.
