
Barbara Ann Stagg, 78, of Independence, Missouri, passed away February 15, 2019 at Research Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2nd at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Laura’s Little Bits of Comfort, and organization very special to Barbara.
Barbara was born May 30, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Jesse and Ruby Olinger. She married her loving husband Roy Stagg on March 14, 1958. Barbara was blessed with two children, David and Tamara. She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in her early years and later was the shop owner of Keepsake Kupboard on Independence Square. She spent most of her time at home taking care of her children and later her grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to breakfast, playing cards with friends, and was active in her church community. She loved her family and was a very proud wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, James Olinger and Charles Olinger; and her daughter-in-law, Laura (Goodman) Stagg.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Stagg Jr.; her children: David Stagg and Tamara Wise (Bart); four grandchildren: Amanda (Stagg) Hanna (Jared), Rachel (Stagg) Jensen (Austin), Jordyn (Wise) Beebe (Jon), and Jonathan Wise; and four great-grandchildren: Caleb, Elizabeth, & Nathan Hanna, and Jackson Jensen.
